MERZ Schaltgeräte GMBH + CO KG – At October the 1st 1946 the company MERZ was founded by Gustav Merz. In spite of the difficult post-war period in the year 1952 a wide range of switches from 15A to 100A already existed. The production took place in a factory building in own property with more than 30 employees. The products were subject to a constant process of enhancements. Till 1952 the range of products were expanded with motor protecting switches and current-distributions made of sheet steel and cast iron enclosures. Cause of the favourable trend of the company it was necessary to expand the premises. In 1960 the first serial production of assemblies for construction sites started. Almost at the same time testing panels became part of the product range. Today 100 people are working at MERZ which is an independent operating company. MERZ is one of the leading companies for ACS (Assemblies for Construction Sites) in Germany. Since December 2005 the company PC Electric from St. Martin (Innkreis, Austria) is, new majority owner of the MERZ GmbH. Range of products Today MERZ GMBH supplies a diversified and high quality range of products. This comprises the product range of low voltage switchgear, mobile current-distribution, testing panels, sheet metal works and customized products according to specifications of the client. The program of low voltage switchgears includes cam switches and disconnect switches in open and encapsulated design. |
